Wally Pfeifer, age 86, of New Prague, died December 20, 2012 at Mala Strana Health Care Center. Wally was born on November 15, 1926 in Grodek, Poland to Stephen & Catherina Pfeifer. He spent his youth in Poland and moved to the USA in 1952. Wally married June J. Miller on November 17, 1962 in Montgomery,MN. He worked as a block and cement finisher for multiple construction companies, but the majority of his career with Ralph Thomas Construction. Wally ejnoyed fishing, playing euchre, and particularly dancing. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his ability to generate a smile from those around him.
Wally is survived by his wife, June of New Prague; daughters, Diane Pfeifer of Long Lake, MN, Susan (& William) Sleet of New Prague; grandson, Wil Sleet; sisters-in-law, Evelyn (& Richard) Novotny of Inver Grove Heights, Joan Carlson of Luck, WI, Mildred Taylor of Belle Plaine, Dorothy (& David) Scheffert of Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Glenn Carlson, Gail Taylor.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague with visitation at church beginning at 9:00 AM. Burial will occur in the spring at St. John Cemetery in Montgomery. Lunch will occur after mass at the Legion Clubroom in New Prague.
