Virginia Clara (Zaun) Beuch, age 101 of New Prague, formerly of Lydia, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026. Virginia was born on May 17, 1925 in Cedar Lake Township and grew up on the family farm. She was the eldest of 3 girls born to George Jr. and Clara (Scheffler) Zaun.

While working at Bussman’s General Store in Lydia, she met her future husband Herman Beuch. They were married on May 20, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Church in St. Patrick, MN and were married for 68 years before his passing in 2017. Shortly after they wed, they moved onto Virginia’s home place outside of Lydia in Cedar Lake Township where they raised 10 children. They continued to live there until 2006 when they then moved to New Prague.

Besides tending to the farm, raising the children and maintaining a huge garden, Virginia had a variety of jobs in the area. She not only worked at Bussman’s, she also worked at Gedney’s as a lead manager. She also was a cook at several establishments to name a few: Wild Outdoors which is now Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club, Prior Lake VFW and New Prague Park Ballroom. If that wasn’t enough, Virginia worked as a nanny and house cleaned for several families which some of them still kept in contact and sent her cards. She was an active member at St. Patrick Church and at one time, president of the rosary society.

She was proud of her harvest from her garden and her beautiful flowers. She was an awesome cook and baker who loved feeding family and guests. She enjoyed helping take care of the grandchildren and just having her family out helping on the farm.

Throughout the years, Virginia enjoyed going to auctions and cherished her antiques. She liked playing cards and bingo. She also loved to dance and watch the Lawrence Welk show.

Virginia is survived by her children: Gerald (Peggy), Rodney “Buck” (Diane), Sharleen (Greg) Scheffler, Terrance (Linda), Kathleen (Mike) Javenkoski, Marleen (Mike) Kersting, Darleen (Jerry) Vonderharr, James (Cathy), John (Debbie), Colleen (Bradley) Bartelds; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Beuch; parents, George Jr. and Clara Zaun; grandson, Jason Beuch; granddaughter, Heather Cotter; siblings, Alice Deutsch and Geraldine Petricka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM September 17, 2026 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 24425 Old Hwy 13 Blvd, Jordan, MN 55352, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Fr Michael Miller will be officiating. Immediately after the service, burial will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery followed by lunch in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
