Veronica "Ronnie" Stevens Yearneau, age 95, of Waconia, formerly of Eden Prairie, died peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society in Waconia. Veronica was born a twin on June 27, 1926 in Mendota, Minnesota to Martin and Susan (Hart) Stevens. She grew up in Westbrook, MN where she graduated from Westbrook High School. She married Frederick W. Yearneau on December 29, 1951 at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis. No stranger to tragedy, Veronica would bury both her husband and her son. She was a gifted seamstress, owning her own drapery business along with her twin sister, called Monica and Veronica Draperies; together they created many beautiful window treatments for their clients. After retirement, she worked for Rapala-Normark and would regularly bring in her homemade cookies. She thoroughly loved her time there.
Ronnie's greatest attributes were her generosity and kindness. She retired from Normark to care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when the need arose. She always put the needs of others first and regularly supplied her neighbors with the bounty of her baking and never sent anyone home without a care package. She supported all three Eden Prairie Catholic churches but was particularly active with a sewing group at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Ronnie was a loyal and avid fan of all Minnesota sports teams, especially devoted to the Twins. The smile that lit up her eyes and her kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
Ronnie is survived by her daughter, Dr. Kathryn (John) Duevel; daughter-in-law, Jan Yearneau (Todd Werner); grandchildren, Emily Susan Duevel (Mark Berg), Sarah Margaret (Brian) Kimmes, Megan Ann Duevel (Tom Wagar), Julie Marie (Kyle) Decker, Michael John Yearneau; great-grandchildren, Hayden and William Berg, Weston & Sadie Decker; sister, Monica Straiton; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick on July 31, 2008; son, Stephen; sister, Rosemary Findlay; brothers, Michael and Raymond Stevens.
