Treven L. “Trey” Smith, age 24, of New Prague died at his home on Friday May 15, 2015.  Trey was born December 28, 1990 in Minneapolis to Scott D. & LuAnn M. (LeMay) Smith.  He was a 2009 graduate of New Prague High School where he was active in football and hockey.  Treven gradated from Bemidji State University in 2013 with a degree in Criminal Justice.  Hunting and fishing were his passions and he loved many genres of music.  After 5 months from being diagnosed with FLT3 AML Leukemia Trey died at his home surrounded by family and friends. Through this journey he was a true warrior and fought this battle with intensity, determination, and courage. His positive posts on Caring Bridge were a testimony to this.

Treven is survived by his parents Scott and LuAnn, brother Tanner Smith and Tanner’s girlfriend Brooke Ellanson, all of New Prague; grandfather Duane Smith of Jordan, grandmother Margaret LeMay of Shakopee; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his grandmother Joyce Smith and grandfather Louis LeMay.

A service of remembrance will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday May 21, 2015 at Cedar Lake Regional Park, 25875 Juniper Ave., New Prague with Rev Dr. Steven Trewartha of Faith Point Lutheran Church officiating.  Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at that location.  Lunch will follow.
