Sylvia Hruby, age 86, of New Prague, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at The Lodge on Natchez in New Market.  Sylvia was born June 15, 1926 in Lanesburgh Township, Le Sueur County to Frank & Emma (Holey) Vojta.  She graduated from New Prague High School and married Charles T. Hruby on July 18, 195 in Le Center, MN.  Sylvia was a lifelong resident of New Prague, working as a bookkeeper at Suel Printing/The New Prague Times from 1943 – 2007.  She loved gardening, especially flowers – both outdoor and indoor.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Marlene (& Bill) Pecholt of Hastings; granddaughters, Sandy (& Eric) Brooks of Hastings & Michelle Pecholt also of Hastings; great-grandchildren, William, Michaela, & Derek Brooks of Hastings.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Dec. 29, 2003 and 2 sisters, Rose Scharfenberg & Helen Dvoracek.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Czech National Cemetery in New Prague.  Visitation will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 from 4 – 8 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
