Susan Evelyn Sticha, age 99, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Mala Strana Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Susan was born on October 30, 1920 in New Market to Frank X. and Elizabeth (Thomas) Koppen.  Raised in the New Market area, she attended St. Nicholas Catholic School.  She married Edward R. Sticha on November 6, 1939 and she joined him on the farm, where they raised their family.  She loved her chickens and ducks, liked to cook, garden, sew, play cards, do crafts, puzzles, and sing.

Susan is survived by her four children, Susan Kukacka of Northfield, Carole (Marlow) Schumacher of Waseca, Eddie (Dalleen) Sticha of New Prague, Nancy (Donald) Horejsi of New Prague; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Luverne Prekker of Prior Lake; brother-in-law, Benny Ingram of St. Paul.

She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Edward in 1989; grandson, Leslie Kukacka; parents-in-law, Edward (Adeline) Sticha; sisters, Marcella (Richard) Pederson & Margaret in infancy; brother, Francis Koppen; sisters-in-law, Adeline (John) Doherty and Hattie Ingram; brother-in-law, Robert Sticha.

Funeral service will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Bruzek Funeral Home with MaryCarol Wolf officiating.  Visitation will take place 2 hours prior to service starting at 10:00 AM.  Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery followed by lunch at the Legion Clubroom.
