Sara Ann White, age 42, of Elko New Market, died Friday November 12, 2021 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Sara was born on September 24, 1979 in Waconia to Donald A. and Charlene A. (Reisgraf) Skluzacek. Sara graduated from New Prague High School and attended Hennepin Technical College, where she obtained her photography degree, and Minnesota School of Business where she earned her BS degree in Human Services. Married February 4, 2001 to Kristian W. White, she was currently employed as a loan officer with Veteran Affairs. Sara, a Staff Sergeant MP, served in the US Army for eight years, was deployed to Germany, and served stateside at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. She served in OIF1 Operation Iraqi Freedom in Bagdad, Iraq in 2003.
Sara enjoyed taking photos, listening to music, going to concerts, bead work, 5K walks for non-profit and essential oils. Sara was an avid animal lover, especially raising chickens, her dog, Java, and their new puppy, Jaxon. She particularly enjoyed hosting events in her new home and bringing family and friends together. She truly was the heart of a very large family and looked at all her friends as her family. She was a past member of the New Prague Legion Auxiliary, and was a lifetime member of the Montgomery VFW Post #5340.
Sara is survived by her husband Kristian of Elko New Market; 5 children, Katie J. and Ben Hardee of Alexandria, MN, Sean L. White of New Prague, Skyla R. White of New Prague, Whitney R. White of Elko New Market, Wayden W. White of Elko New Market; parents; 2 sisters, Amanda A. Skluzacek of Shakopee, Eliza R. Hammond of New Prague; 5 grandchildren, Rylan, Daxon, Makiya, Leland, and Nova.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 18 at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague with Father Eugene Theisen officiating. Visitation will take place at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague from 4 – 8 PM Wednesday and 7:30 – 9:30 AM Thursday. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Union Hill where military rights will be conducted by the New Prague Veterans Honor Guard. Mass will be live-streamed on npcatholic.org
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to donors' choice or the Montgomery VFW Post #5340 or other local veteran effort.
