Ruth Barta, age 90, of New Prague, died sunday, December 16, 2012 at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.  Ruth was born in Minneapolis on March 21, 1922, a daughter of Dennis & Evangeline (Powers) O’Leary. She married Elmer Barta on November 15, 1943.  After high school graduation she worked as a lab technician, secretary, and also at the family business, Barta Refrigeration, for many years.  She was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts; she loved to play bridge & to travel to warmer places in the winter.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Elmer; five children, Kathy (& Wayne) Hines, Tim (& Kathy), Tom (& Luviminda), Bruce, & Steve; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by an infant son, Dennis, and a sister, Pat (Ted) Farrington.

Visitation will be held from 9 – 11 AM on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 followed by a memorial service at 11 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Lunch will follow at the Legion Clubroom.
