Rosemary A. Lambrecht, age 92, of New Prague, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, November 3, 2023. Rosemary was born on August 5, 1931 on the family farm in Union Hill to Joseph and Cecelia (Ruhland) Schoenecker. She grew up on the family farm where she loved to milk the cows and remained a farm girl at heart throughout her life. She graduated from New Prague High School and completed her college degree by attending night classes at Mankato State College while working full time at MVE. Rosemary met and married Joseph W. Lambrecht on November 6, 1948 in Union Hill and he would remain the love of her life until his death in 1990. They especially enjoyed winters up on Mille Lacs Lake ice fishing on Wahkon Bay in their custom-built fish house. Rosemary started out working at the New Prague Hatchery, Munsingwear, and Valley View Nursing Home but spent her working career as a mass spec liquid test supervisor for 32 years at MVE.
Her strong work ethic was evident in all areas of her life. She had an eye for detail and was always punctual, usually being 30 minutes early to any event she would attend! An excellent cook, Rosemary was noted for her world famous potato salad, scalloped potatoes and ham, and pumpkin pie! A devout Catholic, she was a member of the St. Wenceslaus prayer chain and extended her service to volunteering at the hospital and Goodwill. She loved traveling, gardening, playing cards with her friends and siblings. She was a member of Silver Sneakers and Prairie Quilters Club. At the age of 83, her quilting skills saw her competing in the Scott county and Minnesota state fairs, achieving grand champion at both! Rosemary was both dignified and regal, but her loving kindness will be the quality most remembered by her friends and the family that she was so dedicated to.
