Obituary

Rose L. Zvanovec, age 88, of New Prague, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Mala Strana Health Care Center. Rose was born December 11, 1923 to Albert C. & Emma G. (Schoenbauer) Flicek in Wheatland Township, Rice County, Minnesota.  She married Julius J. Zvanovec in New Prague on June 25, 1947.  Rose was a lifelong resident of New Prague, did egg candling for Dick Korbel, was a seamstress for Munsingwear in Montgomery, and ran City Club Bar with her husband for many years.  She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and Queen of Peace Hospital Card-o-Rama.

Rose is survived by her son, Roger “Swanny” & Bev Zvanovec; sister Agnes Trnka; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 7, 1985, her parents, brother, Charles Flicek, sisters, Mary Flicek, Emily Trnka, Helen Bruzek, and Anna Ruzicka.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague with Father David Barrett officiating.  Visitation will be held Monday, May 21st from 5 – 8 PM and Tuesday morning from 7:30 – 9-30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery and lunch will follow at the Legion Clubroom.
