Obituary

Richard Warnemunde, age 67, of New Prague, died Sunday at his home.  Dick was born July 1, 1945 in Faribault to John Melvin & Ethel (Morrissey) Warnemunde.  He was raised in the Kilkenny area, attending St. Canis Parochial School and graduating from Montgomery High School.  Upon graduation, he was drafted into the army and served in the Vietnam War.  He married Linda A. Slavik on September 3, 1971 at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague.  Dick worked for the Le Sueur County Highway Department for 34 years.  He was a life member of the VFW, collected model trains and farm tractors, loved to garden and watch birds, and above all, loved to visit.  He will be remembered as a very gentle soul.

Dick is survived by his wife, Linda Warnemunde of New Prague; son, Tom (& Karlyn) Warnemunde of St. Joseph, MN; brothers, Bob (& Colleen) Warnemunde of Waterville, Dave (& Deb) Warnemunde of Faribault.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas Lee Warnemunde & Larry Warnemunde.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague.  Visitation will be held at Bruzek Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM and Wednesday from 7:30 – 9:30 AM.  Interment will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with military rites being conducted.  Lunch will follow at the KC Hall in New Prague.
