Raymond O’Brien, age 89, of New Prague, died December 24, 2012 at Mala Strana Health Care Center. Ray was born on April 24, 1923 to Thomas and Catherine (Hruska) O’Brien in Kilkenny, Minnesota. He married Pauline R. Lexa on September 26, 1953 at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague, where the couple would make their home. Ray was a trucker for Glisczinski Trucking, worked for Montgomery Cheese Factory, worked on the M & SL Railroad, and was a trucker and mechanic for Hruby Implement in Montgomery.
Ray is survived by his wife Pauline O’Brien of New Prague; daughter, Mary O’Brien of New Prague; granddaughter, Jennifer “B.J.” (& Brad) Flicek of Lonsdale; great-grandchildren, Kailey & Blake Flicek of Lonsdale; brother, Jerome (& Cleo) O’Brien of Isle, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy O’Brien; brothers, Harry & Bob; sister, Eileen Doyle.
Mass of Christian Burial for Ray will be Monday December 31, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague. Visitation will be Sunday, December 30th from 3 – 7 PM and Monday from 7:30 – 9:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Lunch will follow at the Legion Clubroom.
