Milo F. Pomije, age 84 of New Prague, died on Saturday, July 21, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, July 26, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 25, at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague from 4-8 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. K.C. Rosary. Visitation will continue the morning of the Mass at the funeral home from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery.
Milo was born on Feb. 19, 1928 to Joseph & Emily (Maxa) Pomije in New Prague, MN. He attended New Prague Schools and graduated from New Prague High School in 1945. He married Genevieve Dedina at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, MN, on Oct. 15, 1951. He farmed and was a carpenter for many years. He also sold crop seed and in his later years devoted much time to his property and land development. Milo was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cedar Lake Improvement Board and was an usher at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing with the grandkids, old-time music and dancing.
He is survived by his dear and special friend, Mona Reimer of New Prague; children, Kenneth Pomije of New Prague, Roger & Jackie (Stepka) Pomije of New Prague, Allen & Joann (Schultz) Pomije of New Prague, Carol & Kevin VonBank of New Prague, Sharon & Tim McLellan of New Prague; 8 Grandchildren, Krystal, Justin and Miranda Pomije, Amanda & Christopher VonBank, Kaitlin & Michael McLellan and Matthew Pomije.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Genevieve in 2002; son, David in 1996 and brother, Melvin Pomije in 1999.
