Megan Kane, age 27, of Chicago, formerly of New Prague, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, at University of Minnesota Medical Center after her long battle with a rare genetic liver disease.  Megan was born May 27, 1986 in New Prague to Kevin J. & Anita (Busch) Kane.  She graduated from New Prague High School in 2004 and the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in scientific and technical writing.  In addition to being a student, Megan played tennis for the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs while at the Duluth campus during her freshman year.  She loved to travel the world with her spitfire spirit moving her to Chicago in 2010 for her next life adventure.  She quickly took to the excitement of the windy city.  She loved to cook for those she loved with her specialty dish being spaghetti.

Megan is survived by her mother, Anita; sisters, Sadie, Sally, & Abby, and brother, Joseph,and her dog, Patrick; grandmother, Cecilia Kane.  She is preceded in death by her father, Kevin; grandfather, Joseph Kane; grandparents, Donald Albert & Patricia Ellen Busch.

To celebrate Megan’s life, a  visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 3 – 7 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home. Private services are planned for a later date.
