Obituary

Mary Ann Terwedo, age 78, of New Prague, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at Mala Strana Health Care Center.  Mary Ann was born May 6, 1936 in Derrynane Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota to John D. & Veronica (Schipprett) Meger.  She attended St. Wenceslaus School and New Prague High School.  She married Albert C. “Duke” “Dick” Terwedo on September 8, 1956 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lexington, MN. The couple would be lifelong residents of New Prague.  Mary Ann was active in various organizations including American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, KC Auxiliary, State KC Auxiliary board, New Prague Hospital Auxiliary, St. Wenceslaus CCW, Deanery, past member of St. Wenceslaus School Board, American Red Cross Blood Mobile Coordinator for New Prague for 40 years, past Scott County 4-H leader, and various church committees.

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Jim Terwedo of Jordan, Randy (& Shannon) Terwedo of Shingle Springs, CA, Alan (& Ann) Terwedo of Stillwater, Dale (& Leanne) Terwedo of Bloomington, Jane (& Allen) Oestreich of New Prague, Terry Terwedo of Minneapolis; brothers, Andrew Meger of Belle Plaine, Leonard Meger of Faribault, Ambrose Mager of Sun City, AZ; sisters-in-law, Virgie Meger of Belle Plaine and Bernice Meger of Belle Plaine; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband “Duke” “Dick” Terwedo on December 27, 2003; her parents; brothers, Sylvester, Raymond, John, & Joseph Meger; sisters, Marcella Miller, Rosella Koepp, Veronica Battig.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Dave Barrett officiating.  Visitation will be held Sunday, September 21 from 2 – 7 PM and on Monday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.  Lunch will follow at the KC Hall in New Prague.
