Mary Sue “Sue” Ambroz, age 65, of New Prague, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at her home in New Prague.

Sue was born on August 22, 1960, to Lawrence and Mary Jo (Chromy) Sirek in New Prague, MN. Sue graduated from New Prague High School with the class of 1978. She went on to earn a teaching degree from Mankato State University.

Sue married Robert “Bob” Ambroz on April 19, 1985, and they shared 41 years of adventures together. They went on to raise three children, who then blessed them with five grandchildren and four grand puppies. Sue could not have been more proud of each and every one of them.

There was nothing more important to Sue than family. She grew up on a farm near Lonsdale with her parents and five siblings. This is where the values of hard work and dedication began. We all know she always gave 100% in everything she did, which was instilled into her children.

It was well known that her biggest passion was anything involving sports. Whether playing herself or watching her kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, or any team on TV. She was one of the first girls to play Town and Country Baseball for Veseli. Sue radiated kindness and generosity to whoever she encountered. She was never too busy to pass up an opportunity to throw a ball, give a high-five, or give a minute of her time to help anyone wherever was needed. Her grandkids knew that they would never leave empty-handed when they spent time with Grandma Sue, whether it was a piece of candy, a sports card, a stuffed animal, or a couple dollars, along with many hugs, kisses, and memories they will cherish forever.

Sue is survived by her devoted husband, Bob; children, Matt (Brynne) Ambroz, Kacy (Marc) Fortin, Seth (Jackie) Ambroz; 5 grandchildren, Bennett, Camden, and Emerson Ambroz, Brooks and Tage Fortin; as well as her beloved four-legged companion, Ginny. Siblings, Carol (Brett) Erath, Russ (Deb) Sirek, Jan (Bob) Hrabe, Randy (Kim) Sirek; siblings-in-law, Micki (Scotty) Ziskovsky, JoAnn (Bill) Swanson, Bill (Teresa) Ambroz, Chuck Ambroz; and many nieces and nephews.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Mary Jo Sirek; brother, Roger Sirek; her in-laws, Robert and Mary Kay Ambroz; and her other beloved four-legged companion, Sasi (6/29/26).
