Mary E. O'Brien, age 63, of New Prague, died suddenly in her home on Monday, May 7, 2018. Mary was born on March 21, 1955, in New Prague to Raymond T. and Pauline R. (Lexa) O'Brien. She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from New Prague High School. After high school, she was hired by Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center and remained there for 43 years, most recently as Maintenance Director. She loved the interactions and friendships she made with the residents throughout her years there. In addition, Mary enjoyed antiquing, auctions and real estate sales, especially going to Turek Auction Barn. Crafting, card making, scrapbooking, and gardening filled out leisure activities. Time with her family and friends and the love of her cats were her biggest priorities in life.

Mary is survived by her niece, Jennifer (Brad) Flicek of Lonsdale and their children, Kailey and Blake; aunts, Helen Wolf and Marge Lexa both of New Prague; uncle, Jerome O'Brien of Isle, MN; several cousins and good friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Timothy O'Brien.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 11, 2018, at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kevin Clinton officiating. Visitation will take place Friday morning from 8:30 – 10:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial will occur at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, followed by lunch at the Legion Clubroom.
