Mary Ann Johanix, age 80, of Prior Lake, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at McKenna Crossing Assisted Living in Prior Lake.  Mary Ann was born July 26, 1935 in Hibbing, MN to Charles S. and Ann Marie (Jensen) Strafaccia.  She grew up in Hibbing, graduating from Hibbing High School and married George J. Johanix on June 1, 1957 in Hibbing.  The couple moved to Minneapolis in the early 1960’s where they raised their two sons.  Mary Ann worked as a buyer for FMC and Select Comfort. She was a woman of faith and fun-loving, with a great sense of humor.  Mary Ann was also remembered as someone who was always positive, even as her health declined.

Mary Ann is survived by sons, Mark Johanix of Spring Lake Park, MN and Michael Johanix (Linda Scott) of Prior Lake; sister, Carol Waara of Hibbing.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dave Strafaccia; sister, Donna.
