Martha Hrabe, age 91, of New Prague, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems Hospital New Prague.  Martha was born February 13, 1922 In Wheatland Township, Rice County, MN to Joseph M. & Christina (Pumper) Machacek.  She attended Most Holy Trinity Catholic School and graduated from New Prague High School.  She married Edwin F. Hrabe on November 15, 1943 in Veseli, MN. Martha worked for many years as a clerk at Emil Dvorak’s Grocery Store and then with the kitchen staff at the New Prague Park Ballroom.  Martha was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Wenceslaus CCW, New Prague Senior Citizens, Catholic Workmen, and the New Prague Historical Society.

Martha is survived by her children, Jan “Jenny” Bisek, Ed (& Diane) Hrabe, Josie (& Fritz) Ceplecha, Joe (& Cindy) Hrabe all of New Prague; brothers, Edward (& Beverly) Machacek of Shakopee, Joseph (& Jean) Machacek of Bloomington; sister-in-law, Virginia Machacek of Sparta, MI; 11 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Edwin Hrabe on March 27, 1979; her parents; 2 brothers, Alois & Emmanuel Machacek.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.  Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 2 from 4 – 8 PM and Wednesday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM all at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will follow mass at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.  Lunch will follow interment at the Legion Clubroom in New Prague.
