Mark Wallace Hamer, age 68, of New Prague, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Mark was born on October 30, 1951 in Minneapolis to Raymond and Janette (Leaf) Hamer. He grew up in Minneapolis, graduated from Southwest High School, and attended Mankato State College. He worked as a mortgage analyst for Wells Fargo and thoroughly enjoyed his work and the people he worked with. Mark married the love of his life, Tatiana Barkova, on July 25, 1998 in Edina, MN and the couple moved to New Prague 10 years ago, where he was able to house the horses that were his passion. His life revolved around horses; he was a true cowboy and loved John Wayne. He belonged to the Saddle Club of New Prague, the Horse and Hunt Club, and was a Freemason. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He was a member of the Mounted Patrol at the State Fair for 14 years and was known as "Jingles". Mark was genuinely one of the most kind-hearted of men, willing to drop anything to help a friend or family member. He was extremely proud of his nephew, Andre, for his service to this country as a marine. He was a man of faith and integrity, had a wicked sense of humor, loved sweets, and could entertain people for hours with his storytelling. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Tatiana; daughters, Erika & Amanda; mother, Janette Leaf; mother-in-law, Liuba Barkova; sister, Twyla (Jeff) Love; brothers, Brian (Jude) Hamer, Reed (Kim) Hamer, Todd (Molly) Hamer, Tim (Alyssa) Hamer. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hamer; sister, Robin Vanblarcom.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Reverend Diane Goulson officiating. Visitation will take place from 12:30 – 1:30 PM.
