Marie Schroeder, age 86, of New Prague, formerly of Texas, died Friday, April 19, 2013 at her home.  Marie was born November 18, 1926 in Robbinsdale, MN to Francis J. & Theodosia B. (Bauer) Carey.  She received a 4-yr. degree as an RN from the College of St. Catherine and the University of Minnesota and worked as a public health nurse.  Marie married James B. Schroeder on June 14, 1952 in Robbinsdale, MN.  She was very involved in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Mexia, Texas.

Marie is survived by her husband, James of New Prague;  daughters, Mary (& Bill) Brown of Coppell, TX, Kate Fitterer of Shakopee, Margaret “Maggie” (& Brian) Johnson of San Antonio, TX; son, James David (& Cathy) Schroeder of Charlotte, NC; sister, Corinne (& George) Nagovsky of Columbia Hts, MN; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis J. & Theodosia B. (Bauer) Carey & daughter Janet Marie Schroeder at age 13.

Services are pending for a future date.  Interment will occur at St. Aiden’s Cemetery, Freeborn County, MN.
