Marian Mahowald, 81, of New Prague, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2014 in her home surrounded by family.  she was born on October  19,1932 in Chaska, MN to Rosella (Willams) and Florentine Welter.  Marian enjoyed gardening, crocheting, building scrapbooks, playing bingo, traveling, visiting with friends and family, and serving others in many ways.  She used her wit and sense of humor to brighten others’ day.

Loved and forever missed by her loving husband, Wilfred, of 62 years; children, Tim (& Peggy) Mahowald and their five children, Sandy Prusinski and her four children, Randy (& Lynette) Mahowald and their four children, Douglas Mahowald, Susan Thorson and son, and Jeff Mahowald and his seven children; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gordon, Leonard, Delores, Adrian, Anthony, Bonita, Wilbert, Norman, Wallace, and Vernon; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Theresa, Lucille, and Vincent; and daughter-in-law, Kim.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 PM and Friday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg.  Lunch will follow at the KC Hall.
