Obituary

Margaret Tesarek, age 102, of New Prague, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center.  Margaret was born October 30, 1913, in Bloomington, MN to Adolph Joseph and Wilhelmina Dorothy (Kuettel) Adelmann.  She was raised in Bloomington and attended Assumption Catholic School in Richfield.  Margaret married Frank D. Tesarek on October 29, 1938 at Assumption Catholic Church in Richfield.  They made their home first in Hopkins for 17 years, then moved to St. Benedict, MN from 1965 – 1997, and a final move to New Prague occurred in 1997.  Margaret was a farm housewife, where her talents as a gardener flourished.  She was also an avid quilter and won many ribbons at the State Fair.  She was a caring aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews and made sure every one of her nieces and nephews received a handmade quilt.  In addition, Margaret knitted several  thousand pairs of bed socks for distribution to U.S. Veterans.  Her service to others garnered a nomination for Senior Citizen of the Year.

Margaret is survived by her brother, Norbert (Joan) Adelmann of Eagan; 22 nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank on August 5, 2004; sisters, Bernadette Jacobsen, Cecilia Kramer, Gertrude Fisher; brothers, Leonard, Bernard, Karl, & Hermann Adelmann.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Father David Barrett officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:30 – 11:00 AM also at the funeral home.  Burial will occur at St. Benedict Cemetery, followed by lunch at Lakeside Supper Club.
