Margaret Maxa, age 84, of Elko New Market, died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.  Margaret was born September 16, 1932, to Guy F. and Mary F. (Madera) Blaha.  She grew up in the St. Patrick area and graduated from New Prague High School.  She married Stanley Maxa on September 11, 1954, in New Market, MN, where the couple made their home.  She worked at the New Market Post Office and was an assistant at St. Nicholas School in New Market.

Margaret is survived by her children, Cindy Maxa (& John McGirl) of Lilydale, Leon (& Debby) Maxa of Montgomery, Jeffrey (& Becky) Maxa of Elko New Market; sisters, Phyllis Bilek of Minneapolis, Yvonne (& Edward) Zahratka of Elko New Market; sister-in-law, Alice Blaha of Farmington; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley on October 4, 2016; parents, Guy & Mary Blaha; brother, Raymond Blaha.

Private family services will be held with burial at a later date at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.  Family requests no flowers.
