Mae Ann Schoenbauer, age 83, of New Prague, died Monday, July 28, 2014 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.  Mae Ann was born May 3, 1931 in Helena Township, Scott County, MN to Wenceslaus J. & Anna M. (Simon) Kubes.  She attended Scott County District School and New Prague High School.  On September 24, 1955, Mae married Lawrence J. Schoenbauer at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague.  She farmed with her husband while raising her family.  She was a member of the Helena Honey Bees Homemaker Club.  Polka music and dancing were the outward activities that represented her pride in her Czech heritage.  Spending time with her grandchildren and siblings and playing cards were her favored leisure activities.

Mae is survived by her husband, Lawrence; sons, Alvin (& Natalie) of Elbow Lake, MN, Carl (& Helen) of New Prague, Larry (& Special friend, Deb Kohout) of New Prague, Gregory of New Prague; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernadine Svoboda of New Prague; brothers, Wencel “Jim” (& Pat) Kubes of New Prague and Wally (& Jeanne) Kubes of New Prague; sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Kubes of New Prague and Mary Lou Kubes of Arizona; brother-in-law, Clarence Smisek of New Prague.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Arnold, and Wayne Kubes; sisters, Eugenia Ziskovsky, Carol Ann Kubes, Janice M. Smisek.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father David Barrett officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 8 PM and Saturday morning from 7:30 – 10:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will follow mass at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.  Lunch will follow at the Legion Clubroom in New Prague.
