Luverne “Liz” E. Musil, age 86 of New Prague, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Mala Strana Health Care Facility in New Prague.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 at the Bruzek Funeral Home, and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Thursday.  Interment will be in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in New Prague.  Luncheon to follow at the KC Hall in New Prague.

Liz was born on September 5, 1931 to Peter and Rose (Sunder) Beckius in Jordan, MN.  She graduated from Jordan High School and was the very first Miss Jordan. Liz married Gene Musil on June 30, 1962 in Jordan.  She worked 30+ years at Mala Strana in their activities department.  She enjoyed music, especially playing the piano and singing. She also enjoyed playing cards, golfing, gardening, bird watching, traveling, walking, and attending daily church and coffee with her dear friends.  Liz was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.  Liz had a deep love for her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Liz is survived by her children, Mary (Dave) Duwenhoegger of Maple Grove, and Tom (Angie) Musil of New Prague; grandchildren, Allie and Nate Duwenhoegger, and Danny and Ryan Musil; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Milo) Rynda, Ann Beckius, and Joanne Osbeck; and cherished nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene in 2014; siblings, Alice, Jerome, Eugene, Al (Terry), and Norman Beckius; and grandson, Samuel Duwenhoegger.
