Obituary

Luke Veit, age 12, of New Prague, entered heaven January 9, 2015.  Luke was born June 1, 2002 in Edina, MN to Brent and Kelly (Lee) Veit.  He grew up in Prior Lake before he and his family moved to New Prague in December of 2012.  Luke attended Aspen Academy and New Prague Middle School.  Luke was a young man of many interests, and when he had one, he attacked it with full passion, learning everything there was to be known.  He played football and loved snowboarding, skateboarding, wake boarding, fishing and hunting.  His interests were not limited to sports; he was involved and connected at Friendship Church in Prior Lake; he possessed an artistic side as well with interests in origami and paracording. He was so good at the latter, that he had plans to sell his creations.  Luke was a deep thinker, a risk taker, and adventurous, always willing to try new things, such as weird foods. He was dad’s “little” buddy at 5’8″ and his parents’  “favorite son”.  Luke always looked forward to every summer that his cousin, Dallas, would spend with him at the cabin in Minnesota – they were like brothers.

Luke is survived by his parents, Brent & Kelly (Lee) Veit of New Prague; sisters, Hannah & Tally; grandparents, Francis & Linda Veit of Prior Lake; Great-Grandmother, Dolores Skogh of Richfield; aunts & uncles, Debra (& Scot) Veencamp of Columbia Heights, Jean (& Mark) Ebensperger of St. Paul, Lawrence Lee, III of Burnsville, Terrence (& Sheila) Lee of Roseville, Bryan (& Julie) Veit of Littleton, CO, Brier Veit & Eli Touhami of Bloomington, Brooke (& Michael) Yerxa of Faribault; many cousins; and his best friend, Max Carlson.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence & Patricia Lee, II.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 13 at 7:00 PM at Friendship Church in Prior Lake (17741 Fairlawn Ave., Prior Lake, MN 55372) with Pastor John Tolly officiating.  Visitation will take place at church from 4 – 7 PM.
