Louise A. Busch, age 85, of New Prague, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, December 15, 2017, at her home. Louise was born on July 31, 1932, in Marystown, MN, to Henry and Mary (Stemig) Pieper. She grew up in the Marystown area, where she attended parochial grade school and graduated from Shakopee High School. Before marriage, Louise worked as a nursing assistant at St. Francis Hospital. She married the love of her life, Oliver P. Busch, on June 20, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marystown. Together they raised seven children on the Busch family farm near St. Benedict. Louise was active in St. Benedict Council of Catholic Women (CCW). Louise and Oliver loved dancing to polka music in their early years. She enjoyed gardening, canning the fruits of her garden, crocheting, and embroidery, but playing cards was one of her favorite pastimes. She was a dedicated wife and mother, caring, and devoted to her family.
Louise is survived by her husband of 61 years, Oliver; children, Clarine (Craig) Buszmann of Burnsville, Rodney Busch (Peg Solheid) of New Prague, Doris (Jerry) Wawrzyniak of Jordan, Kevin (Susan) Busch of Jordan, Linda (Ken) Brooks of Jordan, Sharon (Al) Menke of Jordan; brother, Dennis (Joan) Pieper of Marystown; sister, Catherine (Tom) Kes of Jordan; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven H. Busch; daughter, Mary Elizabeth in infancy; sister, Alice Worm.
Father Thomas Krenik, nephew, will officiate a Christian Burial Mass, which will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Union Hill starting at 11:00 AM. The visitation will take place Wednesday from 4-8 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home and Thursday from 10 – 11 AM at the church. Burial will occur at St. Benedict Cemetery in St. Benedict followed by lunch at the KC Hall in New Prague.
