Loren Robert Pumper, age 61 of New Prague, MN passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 19, 2023. Loren lived his life with hope, selflessness, and passion, while being an inspirational husband and father. He so cherished his friendships and time with family, always wanting everyone to have a good time. Loren was a skilled craftsman (welder), outdoorsman and an avid fan of Minnesota sports at all levels.
His spirit was ever-present even during some extraordinarily difficult life situations over the past four and a half years, including a courageous battle with lung cancer. We are convinced that in the days leading up to his passing, he wanted to be sure his family would be okay. He was reunited with his son, Zac, who passed on the exact day, August 19th, four years prior. Loren and his family remain so grateful to the teams at Minnesota Oncology, Northwestern University Medical School (in Chicago), Fairview Ridges Hospital, Minnesota Hospice. A special thank you to our amazing family and friends who provided emotional and physical support to our family.
Loren so loved his family and is preceded in death by his son, Zac; parents, Alois & Stella; brother, Teddy, and sister, Alice Jindra. Survived by his loving wife and partner in life, Mary, of 41 years, proud father of Andrea (Ryan), Zac (deceased), and Kirby (Larry); loving grandfather to Jameson and Paisley; siblings, Judy Leske, Glenn Pumper, Tom Pumper, Gary Pumper, Jeannie Heaney, Mary Pumper, Bernie Pumper, Al (Jean) Pumper; brother-in-law, Greg Jindra.
Loren's Celebration of Life will be held at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club (2920 220th St. E., Prior Lake, MN 55372) on Friday, September 8th with an open house from 6 – 9 pm. The Celebration of Remembrance will take place during the open house at 7:15. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers and aligned with how Loren lived his life, we encourage people to make a gift to their charity of choice, go out for a meal with friends or a family member whom you haven't seen for some time and raise a glass in Loren's honor.
