Obituary

Lance Corporal Dale Means USMC, age 23, of New Prague, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 when his vehicle was hit by an IED while serving in Afghanistan. Dale was born April 17, 1989 in Burnsville, Minnesota to John D. & DaleLyn L. (Larsen) Means.  Dale attended Farmington Elementary School, New Prague High School, and Dakota County Technical Institute.  Following his education, he entered the US Marine Corps. Dale married Andrea B. Scheffler on October 15, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Patrick, Minnesota.

Dale is survived by his wife, Andrea; parents, John Means of North Dakota, & DaleLyn Means of Burnsville; sister, JoLyn Means of Cannon Falls; grandfather, John Means of Savage; grandparents, John & Patricia Roy of Apple Valley; Parents-in-law, John & Patricia Scheffler of New Prague; sisters-in-law, Megan, Alicia, Amy Scheffler of New Prague.  He is preceded in death by grandmother, Nancy Means.

Mass of Christian Burial for Dale will occur Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Church of St Patrick of Cedar Lake in St. Patrick, MN.  Visitation for Dale will take place at Bruzek Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM and Wednesday morning from 7:30 – 10:00 AM.  Full military honors will be conducted.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.  Lunch will follow at the Church Social Hall.
