Ken Ellman, age 66, of New Prague, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at his home.  Ken was born October 24, 1945 in Algona, Iowa to Vincent & Delores (Johnson) Ellman.  He graduated from Lakota High School and served in the Army from 1965 – 1971.  He married Irene Barta on April 22, 1969 at Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery.  The couple settled in New Prague, where Ken worked for Polar Panel (Montgomery), and Robin Hood/International Multifoods/ConAgra.  He ran his own bait shop, “KE Bait Shop” for many years, which was open 24/7!  Ken was an avid Vikings fan and loved playing cards.

Ken is survived by his wife, Irene of New Prague; children, Kathy Ellman, Tammy (& Slawek) Iwan, Shelly Ellman, Kim (& Mike) Delbow, all of New Prague; Mother, Delores Ellman of Montgomery; Brothers, Stanley (& Deb) Ellman of Swea City, Iowa, Dennis (& Marion) Ellman of New Prague, Randy (& Kim) Ellman of Rudd, Iowa.  He was preceded in death by his father, Vince Ellman.

Memorial service for Ken will be held Monday, October 8, 2012 at 5:00 PM with visitation from 3 – 5 PM all at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Military honors will be conducted.
