Kay Edwards Ferrell, age 66, of New Prague, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Mala Strana Health Care Center.  Kay was born July 7, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN to James H. & Lorrayne P. (Stevens) Ferrell.  Kay grew up in St. Louis Park and attended St. Louis Park High School.  She worked in various offices throughout her life, most of it at the University of Minnesota before retiring a number of years ago.  Kay met her life partner, Richard Edwards in 1989. Kay was an avid quilter and also enjoyed reading and dominoes.

Kay is survived by her children, Dennis (& Holly) Horning of Onalaska, WI and Laura (& Tom) Weise of Northfield; grandchildren, Nicole, Brooke, Michael, Jacob, Becca, & Ally; sister-in-law, Helen Ferrell of Dallas, TX; nephews, Tim & Rick Ferrell.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard K. Edwards; her parents, James & Lorrayne (Stevens) Ferrell; brothers, Richard & James Ferrell.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Wagner of St. Wenceslaus Church officiating. Visitation will take place beforehand from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.  Burial will occur at a later date at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.  There will be a lunch following the memorial service at Kay’s home.
