Kathy Hinderscheid, age 66, of Montgomery, formerly of New Prague, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Mala Strana Health Care Center.  Kathy was born June 21, 1946 in Mason City, Iowa to Fredrick and Helen Marie (Alfson) Schmidtke.  She grew up in Ceylon, MN where she graduated from Ceylon High School.  In her early years, Kathy worked as a Psychiatric Technician for Faribault State Hospital and a nursing assistant at Mala Strana Nursing Home.  Her love for children led her to her favorite career when she operated a day care in her own home for 24 years.  Kathy married John Hinderscheid on June 7, 1969 in Faribault, MN.

Kathy is survived by her husband John of Montgomery; children, Kristine (& Timothy) Brockhoff, John Hinderscheid (& Fiance, Melissa Ponto); grandchildren, Riley, Gage, Skylar, Teagan, Irelin, Kealey.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Helen (Alfson) Schmidtke; brother, Clark Schmidtke.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Father Kevin Clinton officiating.  Visitation will occur prior to mass from 9:00 – 10:30 AM.  Lunch will follow at the Legion Clubroom in New Prague.
