Obituary

Josephine Bartusek, age 87, of New Prague, formerly of Veseli, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Central Health Care in Le Center.   Josephine was born June 10, 1927 in Cedar Lake Township, Scott County, MN to Charles F. & Josephine (Rezac) Sticha.  She was raised in the Webster area and attended country district school.  Josephine married Max J. Bartusek on September 11, 1945 in Veseli and the couple farmed until Max’s untimely death in 1971.  Later, Josephine tended bar for many years at the Pioneer Saloon in New Prague.  She was a past member of the Eagles Club in New Prague.  Though she was never paid, she was known as a comedienne.  She loved to sew and crochet, as well as play cards and bingo.

Josephine is survived by her children, Ron (& Linda) Bartusek of Veseli, Annette Javurek of Garvin, MN, Max Bartusek of New Prague, Jo Ann (& Jeff) Tuma of Alexandria, Darlene (& Dan) Tuma of Le Center, Kayleen (& Steve) Evans of Excelsior; sister, Gladys (& Joe) Tupy of Owatonna; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Max on April 3, 1971; her parents; brothers, Ed, Charles, Robert, and Joseph S. Sticha; son-in-law, George Javurek; daughter-in-law, Karen Bartusek.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Father John Lapensky officiating.  Visitation will take place Sunday from 4 – 8 PM and Monday morning from 7:30 – 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will occur at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Veseli and lunch will follow at the KC Hall in New Prague.
