John M. Sirek, age 78, of New Prague, died peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Center.  John was born on December 11, 1942 on the family farm to Mathias Thomas and Bessie A. (Barta) Sirek, Sr.  He attended Most Holy Trinity Parochial School.  John's life revolved around the farm that has been in his family since 1880.  He was proud of his animals and attentive to his nieces and nephews, teaching them about the workings of the farm.  As his parents aged, he assumed loving care of them as well.  In addition to farming, he enjoyed working for Tupy Tree Service and the Horse and Hunt Club.  He was a faith-filled member of Most Holy Trinity Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  His humble nature, giving spirit, and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his siblings, Mathias (Diane) Sirek, Jr. of Webster, Ann (Alfred) Zaun of Shakopee, Sister Adelia (Elizabeth), O.S.B. of St. Joseph; numerous nieces and nephews and their families.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis, and Joseph; sisters, Catherine Bisek, Mary Regnier, Rose Ann Solheid just one month ago.

Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church in Veseli with Father John Lapensky officiating.  Masks and social distancing are required.  Burial will take place after Mass at St. John's Cemetery in Veseli.  Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to the donor's choice.
