John Hertaus, Jr., age 46, of Veseli, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at his home.  John was born in New Prague  on February 23, 1966 to John R. & Rita L. (Kadlec) Hertaus.  John graduated from New Prague High School and spent 21 years in the Army Reserves, ending his career as acting Command Sergeant Major.  John worked as a carpenter with Paul & Steve Skluzacek and then with Hertaus Construction for the last 22 years.  He also farmed with his brothers.  John served as treasurer for the Veseli Baseball Club.  He loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed attending his kid’s activities, particularly band, baseball, softball, and basketball.

John is survived by his wife, Joseth and children, Julia, Jeanna, & John,III of Veseli; Parents, John & Rita Hertaus of New Prague; Parents-in-law, Robert & Joyce Tikalsky of New Prague; Brothers, Christopher (& Nancy) of Webster, Carl of Webster, Craig (& Michelle) of Cleveland.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Veseli.  Visitation will take place Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 4 – 8 PM and Friday morning from 7:30 – 9:15 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will occur at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Veseli and military rites will be conducted.  Lunch will be at the KC Hall in New Prague following burial.
