Joan Eaton, age 77, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Joan was born June 22, 1934 to Joseph and Assunta Marcachini in Eveleth, MN. After high school she attended Jr. College in Eveleth, and finished attaining her degree from St. Scholastica College in Duluth. She taught school in Montgomery, MN, Grand Marais, Eveleth, and finally in New Prague, where she was the Title 1 teacher for both the NP public school system and St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. She married Jim Eaton on July 30, 1960 in Eveleth. Joan is survived by her husband; children, Tom (& Sandy) Eaton, Joe (& Shari) Eaton, Elizabeth Eaton (& Curtis Engebretson), Kathy (& Todd) Scheffler, Pam (& Randy) Muetzel, Chuck Eaton (& Donna Simon), Meg (& Dan) Seymour; grandchildren, Danielle, Neal, Dylan, Chelsea, Rachel, Rebecca, Nick, Ava, Connor, Emily, Brianna, Amber, Ted, Jonathan, Christopher, Samuel, Anna, Carter, Kate, & Will; brother, Lawrence Marcachini; sisters, Adelina Ojanpa, & Irene (& Robert) Long; sisters-in-law, Leona Marcachini & Constance Marcachini. Visitation for Joan will be Monday, Jan. 9th from 3 – 8 PM and Tuesday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday from St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with burial immediately following at the church cemetery.
