Jerome Schiprett, age 56, of New Prague, died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, August 7, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, after a battle with cancer. Jerome was born January 3, 1959 in New Prague to Milo J. and Mary E. (Koktavy) Schiprett. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and New Prague High School before finishing at Hennepin County Technical School, which prepared him for his job as a machinist. He worked for IWCO Direct in Chanhassen for 28 years. Jerry married Mary Ann Reak on November 22, 1980 at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague. Jerry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially time with his family. His interests included camping, golfing, 4-wheeling, and trap shooting.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of New Prague; daughters, Jennifer (& Dan) Dotzler of Webster, Keli (& Chris) Clements of Rogersville, MO; grandson, Jakob Dotzler; brother, Jim of Burnsville; sisters Marion (& Dennis) Ellman of New Prague and Judy Nelson of Minnetonka; sister-in-law, Pamela Schiprett of North Mankato. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Schiprett.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Wenceslaus Church with Father Kevin Clinton officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM and Wednesday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial will take place after mass at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery followed by lunch at the KC Hall.
