Jeffrey James Schroeder , 53, of Prior Lake, born July 24, 1961, lived with cancer for almost four years until July 21, 2015.  He was preceded in death by his father, Denis, his mother, Florence, and sister, Katherine.  Jeff is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Lesa (Joe) Brostuen and son, Scott Hovinen; Grandchildren, Beckett, Nora and Jane; brothers, Brian (Susan) Schroeder and their children Violet, Nikolaus and Veronika, Scott (Kristine Moncada); sister, Denise (Rodney) Andersen and their children Jacob, Shoal, Annabella, John and Mary Rose; aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends at Chart Industries in New Prague where Jeff worked for more than 25 years. Thanks to Dr. Mark Menge, his nurse Joan, and the rest of the staff and volunteers at Frauenshuh Cancer Center and Jodi Wosmek at Cub in Savage for their part in giving Jeff four extra years, which he believed were a gift.  Jeff wanted to remind everyone to treasure every moment and use each of them to show your family and friends how much you love them.  Jeff also wanted to thank his wife, Pat, and son, Scott, for taking such good care of him in his final weeks and for all the people, family and friends, who visited.  Wake Friday, July 24, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday 7:30 to 9:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.  Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine’s in Prior Lake (Spring Lake Township).
