Georgine A. "Jean" Malecha, age 84, of New Prague, died peacefully at home with her family at her side on Thursday, May 27, 2021.  Jean was born on October 31, 1936 in New Prague to Peter and Lucy (Blesener) Schanus.  She attended New Prague High School and married Francis L. "Fritz" Malecha on August 16, 1958 at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague.  Jean was a quiet,  private woman, who kept a beautiful home and loved to bake.  She loved her pets and as she entered the winter of her life, loved nothing more than watching the birds that would come to her feeders and the wildlife in her backyard.  She will be sadly missed by the grandchildren and family that so enriched her life.

Jean is survived by her son, Dave & Connie Malecha of New Prague; grandson, Justin (Claire) Malecha of Jordan; granddaughter, Mariah (Brandon) Palma of New Prague; great-grandson, Crew David Palma; sister, Rosemary "Micky" Havlicek of Veseli.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Fritz on August 2, 2020; parents; sisters, Ceil Tix, Lorraine Nance, LaVerne Ruter, Germaine Kadrlik; brothers, Edward, Donald, Clifford, Melvin, Richard "Butch", Danny, Marvin, and Alfred (in infancy).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Eugene Theisen officiating.  Visitation will be held at 10 AM in church.  Burial will follow Mass at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
