James “Jim” M. Burgess, born January 20, 1963, age 63, of Shakopee, MN/New Prague, MN, passed away unexpectedly March 5th, 2026.

He was born and raised a “Shakopee River Boy”. He was artistic, creative and mechanically inclined. He built and fixed many things. He loved dogs, friends, and family. He enjoyed adventures on and off his motorcycles. Eventually he met his girlfriend and moved to New Prague where he settled into ranch life and married. He worked for MN DOT for some years. Jim is loved and missed by many. May he rest in peace gently.

 Preceded in death by parents Lauren & Virginia Burgess, Uncles Mike & John, Brother Bob Burgess, and many longtime friends. 

Survived by Wife Deb, stepdaughter Chanda, sisters Carol Hanson, Kathy Gilliland, & Mary Burk, Brother Ron Burgess, nieces & nephews, step grandchild, and friends.
