Iona (Barber) Reed, age 92, of New Prague, died peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague.  Iona was born on August 28, 1923 in Waupun, Wisconsin to Harvey Leon  & Grace (Smit) Barber; Grace died when Iona was an infant and the mother she knew was her step-mother, Ione Barber.  Before she started school, the family moved to Athens, MI, where she was raised and attended school.  She married Harold David Reed in April 1946 in Kalamazoo, MI.  The couple moved their family of five to Minnesota in 1965.  Iona was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and especially fishing and bowling.

Iona is survived by her 3 sons and 2 daughters, Tena (& Dennis) Johnson of Boy River, MI, Joel (& Lori) Reed of New Market, Jack Reed of Burnsville, Kent (& Lisa) Reed of New Market, Lori (& Tim) Neil of Ridgefield, CT; brother-in-law, John Hunt; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Reed on November 16, 2009; daughter Carol Ann Reed at age 6; parents; brother, Lawrence Barber; sisters, Myrtle Musselman and Verna Hunt.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at 10:00 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Pastor Jamey VanGelder officiating.  Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to service.  Burial  will occur at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
