Obituary

Greg Heil, age 61, of New Prague, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home.  Greg was born May 30, 1952 to Henry J. & Blanche (Spoor) Heil in Montgomery.  Greg attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Montgomery High School, and Dunwoody Institute.  He worked as a service manager for Manders Diesel in Lakeville.  Greg was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.  He belonged to Montgomery Sportsmen Club and Minnesota Waterfowl Association and served as a Firearms Safety Training Instructor and Adult Hunter Education Instructor for 30 years.

Greg is survived by his wife, Mary of New Prague; daughters, Juliann (& Dan) Popple of New Prague and Deborah (& Joe) Deichelbohrer of Elko New Market; grandchildren, Ellen & Lydia Popple, Emma & Frank Deichelbohrer; father, Henry Heil of Montgomery; sister, Patti (& James) Mladek of Montgomery; brothers, Buster Heil of Portland, OR and Topper Heil of Montgomery.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Heil.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kevin Clinton officiating.  Visitation will take place Sunday, December 29th from 4 – 8 PM and Monday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will occur at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Popple, Joe Deichelbohrer, Buster Heil, James Mladek, John Malinski, and Jim Malinski.  Lunch will follow at the KC Hall in New Prague.
