Gladys M. Bisek, age 83, of New Prague, died peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System New Prague.  Gladys was born May 19, 1933, in New Prague, to Edward & Helen (Ziska) Kes.  She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from New Prague High School.  She married Ralph W. Bisek on June 6, 1953, in New Prague.  Gladys worked at both Sears and International Multifoods and did daycare out of her home.  She belonged to both the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.  She enjoyed sewing in her early years but her greatest joy in life was time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as her health failed in the past few years, the children could always light up her day.

Gladys is survived by her husband, Ralph; children, Mark (Chris) Bisek of Montgomery, Alan (Jeanne) Bisek of New Prague, Jean Marie (Mike) Pesta of Montgomery; sister, Helen Kajer of New Prague; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Church with Father David Barrett officiating.  Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4-8 PM and on Thursday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 at Bruzek Funeral Home.  Burial will occur at Czech National Cemetery followed by lunch at the Legion Clubroom.
