Gerald Stangler, age 85, of New Prague, died Tuesday, June 19, 2013at The Lodge on Natchez. Gerald was born July 27, 1927 in Kilkenny to Elmer J. & Matilda R. (Thomas) Stangler. He attended Le Sueur County District School at Kilkenny. He served in the National Guard and worked as a portable feed mill operator at Hennes Feed Mill in New Prague for 25 years. Gerald also worked at the Lonsdale Feed Mill and at R & L Woodcraft in Lonsdale. He was a life long farmer and school bus driver.
Gerald is survived by his former wife, Bernice B. (Farber) Stangler of New Prague; children, Ronald (& Jeanette) Stangler of New Prague, Richard (& Elaine) Stangler of San Diego, CA, Geraldine (& Gordon) Ziesmer of Spring Valley, AR, Randell (& Lori) Stangler of Lonsdale, Tamara (& Steven) Vosejpka of Webster, Robin (& Gerald) Schroeder of Jordan, Rodney Stangler of Veseli; Sister, Rosie Mariska of Morristown; Beloved friend, Ella Jahn of New Prague; Sisters-in-law, LaVonne Stangler of Waterville, Rita Stangler of Kilkenny; 17 Grandchildren; 37 Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, William, Elmer,Jr., & James.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Dave Barrett officiating. Visitation will take place at Bruzek Funeral Home on Sunday, June 23rd from 4 – 8 PM and Monday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM. Interment will occur at Calvary Cemetery, Kilkenny, MN immediately after lunch at the KC Hall in New Prague.
