George Wolf, age 88, of New Prague, died Friday, December 13, 2013 at Mala Strana Health Care Center. George was born February 23, 1925 in Helena Township, Scott County, Minnesota to John Michael & Sophia (Pranke) Wolf. He attended St. Benedict School and worked the family farm. He enlisted in the army and served in the South Pacific during WWII. George married Delaine D. Wickenhauser on November 17, 1951 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. George served as an electrician for Nerud Electric. In his retirement, he continued to garden and learned woodworking. He & Delaine often sold their crafts in the fall out of their home.
George is survived by 7 children, Neil of New Prague, Norman (& Joanne) of St. Peter, Jean (& Steve) Sinell of Shakopee, Brian (& Diane) of Montgomery, Bruce (& Becky) of New Prague, LeeAnn Wolf of Cedar Rapids, IA, Darrell (& Kari) of North Mankato; 14 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mathilda Pint and Stella Javurek both of New Prague; 2 sisters-in-law, Valeria Wolf and Helen Wolf both of New Prague. He is preceded in death by his wife, Delaine on May 6, 2013; parents; siblings, Michael, Ludwig, Leo, & Edward Wolf, Christine Nytes, & Adeline Busch.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill (at the intersection of Hwy. 19 & Le Sueur County Rd. 31) with Father Kevin Clinton officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 – 8 PM and Monday morning from 7:30 – 9:30 AM at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague. Burial will take place at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery in St. Benedict. Lunch will follow at the KC Hall in New Prague. Military rites will be conducted.
