Obituary

Frank Dietz, age 94, of New Prague, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague.  Frank was born January 18, 1921 in New Prague, to Frank J. and Rose (Panek) Dietz.  He graduated from New Prague High School and then served in the US Air Force as part of the occupation forces of Japan after  WWII.  After military service, he married Alice Turek and moved to Belle Plaine to farm.  After her death, he married Martha Oberpriller.  In 1960 he sold the farm, worked in retail sales and moved to Chaska and then to Bloomington in 1964.  In 1978, he retired to Lake Havasu City, AZ, where he lived for 30 years.  Finally, he moved back to New Prague in 2009 after the death of his second wife, Martha.  He belonged to the VFW in Arizona and Richfield, MN.  Frank loved to fish and enjoyed flea markets, both buying and selling.

Frank is survived by his sons, Dennis (& Darlene) of New Prague, David of Montrose, MN, and Ronald (& Connie) of Richfield; brothers, Harry of New Prague, Alvin (& Ruth) of New Prague; sister, Ella Jahn of New Prague; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by parents; wives, Alice(Turek) and Martha (Oberpriller); brothers, Emil and Edward; sister, Adeline Jahn.
