Evelyn M. “Evie” Gaughan, age 93, of St. Paul, died Thursday February 18, 2016 at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague, MN.  Evie was born July 20, 1922 in St. Paul to Thomas P. and Mary Ann (Heavers) McMahon.  She was raised in St. Paul and attended the College of St. Catherine there.  She married Neil J. Gaughan on May 5, 1945 in St. Paul where they made their home and raised their family.

Evelyn Gaughan is survived by her daughter Kathie (& Dr. Carl) Burkland of New Prague; 2 grandchildren Carl “Barney” & wife Ashley (and their son Charlie) of Plymouth, and Laura Holmes (and her daughter Campbell) of Apple Valley.

She is preceded in death by her husband Neil on July 27, 2014; her parents; sister Lois K. McMahon; and grandson-in-law Jon Holmes.

Services at Maternity of Mary Church (Chapel), 1414 Dale St. N., St. Paul, MN 55117 (651-489-8825),

Tuesday Feb. 23, 2016, at 11 AM.  Visitation 1 hour prior to service.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul. MN.
