Ernie C. Tikalsky, age 64, of Belle Plaine, formerly of New Prague, died November 30, 2012 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, finally losing his 45-year battle with MS.  Ernie was born December 26, 1947 in New Prague, to Eugene M. and Emily R. (Horejsi) Tikalsky.  He attended St. Wenceslaus School and graduated from New Prague High School and then entered the Army.  On March 8, 1975, Ernie married Patty Speikers at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.  The couple settled in New Prague, where Ernie took up farming.  Ernie loved being with his family and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.  He particularly enjoyed watching his grandchildren in wrestling and cross country.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Patty, now of Belle Plaine; daughters, Jennifer (& Bobby)  Church of Jordan, Aimee Lynn Tikalsky (& special friend, Ben Robinson) of Le Center; grandchildren, Taylin Rae & Landon Church; mother, Emily Tikalsky of New Prague; brother Gene Tikalsky of New Prague.  He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene M. Tikalsky.
