Ella Tietz, age 97, of Belle Plaine, formerly of New Prague, died Monday, February 29, 2016, at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.  Ella was born March 18, 1918, in Lydia, MN to Frank F. and Paulina A. (Zaudtke) Beuch. She attended Immanuel Parochial School at Fish Lake and then Lydia Public School.  Ella married Erhardt E. Tietz on May 25, 1944 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Fish Lake, MN.  The couple made their home and farmed in the Heidelberg/Lanesburgh area, where they raised their four sons.  Ella was a member of the Ladies Aid at Friedens Lutheran Church in Lanesburgh.  She was an avid flower/vegetable gardener and loved caring for her ducks and chickens.

Ella is survived by her sons, Wayne (Virginia) of Shakopee, Ken (Nancy) of New Prague, Alan (Sandy) of New Prague, Eddie of Chico, CA; brother, Orville (Ethel) Beuch of Henderson; sister, Bernice Haferman of Waconia; sister-in-law, Irene Beuch of Lydia; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Erhardt on April 22, 1989; parents; brothers, Melvin & Walter Beuch; sister, Irma Grassmann.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 4, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lanesburgh with Reverend Henry Koch officiating.  Visitation will take place Thursday from 4-8 PM and Bruzek Funeral Home and Friday morning from 10-11 AM at church.  Burial will occur at the church cemetery with lunch immediately following in the church fellowship hall.
